Houses and Lots: Kyoto Lot from Sims Artists.
These narrow houses with interconnecting rooms often had a stall at the front (so I set up a small candle shop) and a courtyard at the back. The toilets and bathrooms are most of the time independent of the accommodation, they are accessed by the courtyard, which I have respected here. The first machiya is made up of the shop, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a parental bedroom, a child’s bedroom, a bathroom, a laundry room, a WC. In the second, there is a kitchen, a dining room, a child’s bedroom, a teenager’s bedroom (independent of the main accommodation), a bathroom with laundry area, a toilet.
